In September 2023, ZKW Elektronik GmbH and ZKW Lichtsysteme GmbH will merge into one company. The respective production operations at the sites in Wiener Neustadt and at the company headquarters in Wieselburg will be continued without restriction. The aim of the integration is, among other things, to bundle the competencies of both locations, to use resources more efficiently and to accelerate decision-making. “By merging the two companies, we want to exploit synergies, strengthen cooperation between the two sites and sharpen our global electronics strategy,” says Dr. Wilhelm Steger, CEO of the ZKW Group.

Andreas Nix takes over site management of ZKW Lichtsysteme GmbH in Wieselburg

At the end of September 2022, Andreas Nix (58) will be responsible as the new General Plant Manager of ZKW Lichtsysteme GmbH. Nix succeeds Stefan Hauptmann, who will assume the global position of ZKW Group Vice President Program Management. Andreas Nix most recently successfully managed the ZKW site in Dalian, China, as General Plant Manager. He has over 25 years of expertise in the automotive industry and has also worked in sales, production, quality and development. “My goal is to continue and secure the successful development of the Wieselburg site,” says Nix.

ZKW awarded seal of quality for workplace health promotion

For years, the Wieselburg-based lighting systems specialist has been intensively committed to promoting the health of its employees and making the company healthier. ZKW has now once again been awarded the seal of quality for workplace health promotion by the BGF network. The ZKW FIT programme offers employees, among other things, a comprehensive exercise programme, various preventive services and targeted nutritional advice. “The health and satisfaction of our employees is very important to us. The award recognises our activities for the well-being of the workforce,” says Dr Wilhelm Steger, CEO of the ZKW Group.

ZKW setzt auf Elektromobilität

Der Wieselburger Lichtsysteme-Spezialist ZKW fährt ab sofort elektrisch. Das Unternehmen hat vor kurzem vier Renault Kangoo Z.E. in Betrieb genommen, die speziell für kurze Strecken eingesetzt werden. Die umweltfreundlichen Nutzfahrzeuge dienen zum Warentransport und Transfer von Mitarbeitern im Raum Wieselburg. Dabei legen die Autos, die am typischen ZKW-Design erkennbar sind, jeweils rund 550 Kilometer pro Monat zurück.

New awards for ZKW

Two new awards for ZKW confirm the extraordinary achievement in terms of delivery reliability and product quality of the lighting and electronics specialist. Subsequently, ZKW Group, together with the company SYMA-SYSTEM GmbH, was awarded the Lower Austrian advertising award “Golden Rooster” (Goldener Hahn). SYMA supported the concept and was responsible for co-planning the booth at the largest automobile trade fair (IAA).

ZKW Builds New Company Restaurant and Nursery

ZKW is investing around 3.2 million EUR in its Wieselburg location in 2017. By building a new company restaurant and a nursery for all ZKW employees, ZKW continues to work for Lower Austria. The construction project will start on 6/12/2017, with completion planned for April of 2018.

ZKW honored with German Innovation Award and GM/Geely Supplier Awards

ZKW has received no less than three top-class awards in recent months. At the German Innovation Awards, the lighting systems specialist’s “Black Box” won in the “Excellence in Business to Business – Machines & Engineering” category. The fully automated robot station accelerates and simplifies the processing and quality inspection of headlight lenses. In addition, the ZKW sites in Krušovce (Slovakia) and Dalian (China) received awards for their excellent delivery reliability and quality. ZKW Slovakia received the “GM Customer Care and Aftersales On-Time Shipping Award 2021” from General Motors, while ZKW China received the “Outstanding Contribution Award” from vehicle manufacturer Geely. The awards reward the lighting systems specialist exceptional performance in Europe and China. Despite pandemic-related restrictions, ZKW was able to fulfill its supply contracts with GM and Geely on time, reliably and in high quality. “We are particularly pleased with the awards because they reward the efforts of our employees for customers worldwide,” explains Dr. Wilhelm Steger, CEO of the ZKW Group.
