The design of the global Controlling trainee program at ZKW:
The global Controlling trainee program consists of 4, partly international, stations.
You start your learning experience with an individually designed onboarding week, during which you get to know ZKW in its entirety.
In the first 12 months, you will get to know various areas of Controlling at your home base. The home base is your base of operations, so to speak, where you will be introduced to your work. Locally, this is either ZKW Lichtsysteme GmbH in Wieselburg/Austria or ZKW Slovakia s.r.o. in Krusovce/Slovakia. Right from the start, you will be in the middle of things, not just part of them. You will take on diverse, responsible tasks and be a full-fledged team member in the areas of Functional Controlling and Project Controlling. At the end of this first stage, you will decide on the basis of your interest in one of the two areas you have become acquainted with in order to further expand your expertise. For the remaining duration of the trainee program, you will specialize in the selected area (Functional Controlling or Project Controlling).
An important part of your global Controlling trainee program is your stay abroad. Let in on new things, both professionally and personally. Over the next 12 months, you will gain a wide range of insights at one of our locations and also work there as an employee in local Controlling in your specialization.
You will spend the last 6 months of your trainee program in the Controlling department at headquarters in Austria, where you will be able to apply the experience you have gained at the various locations. Thanks to the networks you have built up at the sites, you will be a very valuable addition to the team
Your trainee program is complemented by accompanying training and development opportunities based on your individual learning plan. Throughout the trainee program, you will be accompanied by your buddy, who will be there to support you for the entire duration.
The trainee program aims to prepare you for a responsible position in Controlling. Be open to new things and get the best out of yourself!

Application process for the global Controlling trainee program
The application process for the global Controlling trainee program consists of several stages and is conducted in English
- Online Application: You can apply for the global Controlling trainee program via the ZKW homepage. Please also upload the following documents: letter of motivation, CV, certificates and references
- Personal Interview: In a personal interview with representatives of HR and Controlling, we would like to get to know you as a person. What are your drivers? What distinguishes you as a person? What goals are you pursuing? In this meeting, you will be introduced to the global Controlling trainee program in detail.
- Assessment Center: In the assessment center, we would like to get to know you personally in detail together with the other applicants on one day. Various tasks await you, which you have to carry out individual or in group work.
