Our partnership for intelligent vehicle fronts
ZKW, the expert for automotive lighting systems, and REHAU Automotive, a renowned plastics specialist and automotive supplier, have joined forces to seamlessly integrate modern lighting systems into vehicle fronts. This exciting project aims to develop “intelligent vehicle fronts” and potential series products. Through close cooperation and joint work on concepts and pre-development projects, we aim to offer our customers future-oriented solutions that combine the areas of lighting, sensor technology and electronics in the vehicle front – a true “seamless intelligent vehicle front”.
Our aim in this cooperation is to open up additional business potential by integrating our modern lighting and electronics solutions into vehicle add-on parts. We are very happy to have REHAU Automotive as a strong partner at our side.
Our goal: creating added value for the automotive industry
Our cooperation has a clear goal in mind: REHAU Automotive and ZKW want to create considerable added value for the automotive industry by combining their expertise. Together, we are developing the concept of a “seamless intelligent vehicle front” as a complete system that can be seamlessly integrated into vehicles. In addition, REHAU Automotive and ZKW will join forces for current inquiries in order to offer our customers the best solutions.
Automobiles are our passion. The dynamic development of mobility drives us to develop the best possible new solutions for our customers. Individual, functional design is becoming an important differentiating feature for OEMs. Together with our strong partner ZKW, we develop exterior components that give vehicles a new look in combination with light.
What is a "seamless intelligent vehicle front"?
The elimination of the radiator function in electric vehicles opens up a large area at the front of the vehicle that can be redesigned. In the “seamless intelligent vehicle front”, components that were previously developed and installed separately are intelligently merged into an overall system. This seamless vehicle front is enriched with light, logo, sensors and heating elements, making it an intelligent design object. At the same time, we must ensure that the front of the vehicle continues to meet the highest safety requirements for the protection of occupants in the event of an accident.
Our collaboration at a glance
ZKW and REHAU Automotive are already working together successfully on various concepts for car manufacturers. The development of an integrated vehicle front as part of our joint cooperation began in April.
