Lead Optical Engineer (m/f/d)

In this exciting position you are main responsible for the lead optical engineering part in customer projects in our new ZKW Engineering Office in Olomouc, Czech Republic.

Your responsibilities:

  • Leading a small optical project team focused on the development of lighting relevant parts in compliance with best practices, guidelines and rules of the lighting engineering department
  • Presentation of your team work to the customer during technical meetings
  • Supporting, mentoring optical engineers in your project team ensuring meeting technical, legal and internal requirements
  • Planning and coordinating optical tasks in your project team according to the given timing
  • Development based on advanced optical software and worldwide cooperation with company experts
  • Verification of optical designs through light simulation and analysis of lighting prototypes
  • Active participation on prototype/serial samples testing and evaluation in internal ZKW or automotive manufacturer’s site
  • Support the entire development process of your project up to its serial production

Who are we looking for?

  • Technical/University degree in optics, physics, mathematics or mechanical engineering or several years of experience in the automotive/lighting sector
  • Strong customer oriented focus
  • Good technical knowledge of actual automotive trends
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate in English on a daily basis
