From apprentice to engineer: ZKW is searching for bright minds
As a specialist in premium lighting systems, and as one of the region’s largest employers, ZKW is always looking for employees. The company’s growth and expansion at its locations, in particular, require additional personnel. ZKW currently has vacant positions at all of its locations in a variety of departments – such as in the areas of Lighting Technology, Electronics, Design, Simulation, Supply Chain Management, Quality and IT. The company offers not only technical jobs, but also internships and apprenticeships. “We offer a dynamic working environment in the international automotive industry, as well as the possibility to take on responsibility in new positions and to further develop your skills” explains Oliver Schubert, CEO of ZKW Group GmbH.
Diverse opportunities for advancement and development
Last year, the Wieselburg lighting system specialist, with roughly 10,000 employees, generated total global revenues of over 1.34-billion euros. All signs point to ongoing growth in 2019 as well, and the order books for the next few years are already full. In addition, ZKW is working intensively to develop new solutions in exterior lighting and in preparation for autonomous driving. “We are always looking for additions to our workforce. As part of our motto: ‘Bright Minds, Bright Lights,’ we try to attract bright employees who want to benefit from attractive opportunities for advancement in an international company. With a total of eight locations, we offer diverse career opportunities” explains Oliver Schubert.
ZKW is a “Leading Employer of 2019”
The ZKW Group was recently named one of the top 1% of the “Leading Employers” in Austria. Over the course of the evaluation, 700,000 data records were inspected and 40,000 Austrian companies were reviewed in terms of employee services, employee satisfaction, health management and HR expertise.
More than just a job
To retain its employees over the long term, ZKW offers a range of social benefits. At the Wieselburg company headquarters, these include the modern company restaurant, a meals allowance, a fruit day, and ZKW FIT, a comprehensive health and sports program. In addition, we offer flexible working hours, a company nursery, voluntary commuting allowance and different sponsorship and mentor programs. An extensive training and education program supports our employees’ personal careers and provides additional motivation. Last but not least, social cohesion is a major focus: With numerous events like family days, a Christmas party and company outings, ZKW offers many joint activities.
From university to job
ZKW places special focus on its collaborations with universities and other training institutions. For example, the company cooperates with the Vienna University of Technology and the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, as well as the Steyr, Wels and Wiener Neustadt vocational schools. The company offers internships (including during school holidays) and dissertation placements in a variety of departments, as well as company tours, professional presentations and sponsoring activities.
